Tourism Well Defined engages key community stakeholders to create and inform destination assessments and/or wellness tourism blueprints that are actionable and achievable, and are developed with the interests of both the local community and the potential visitor in mind. Each plan is tailored to realize results, foster key partnerships, and leverage resources to develop tourism products that will promote local economic development while increasing visitor numbers.
Prior to developing a Wellness Tourism Blueprint, Tourism Well Defined conducts in-depth on-site destination assessments to identify potential wellness tourism assets. Oftentimes, potential wellness tourism assets exist, but they are unrecognized, under-utilized or unimagined. Therefore, identifying cultural, natural, and manmade assets that can be adapted for wellness tourism is the first step to understanding viable opportunities.
After discussions with local politicians, community and business leaders, and tourism officials, Tourism Well Defined looks at current assets with the aim toward reimagining them to appeal to a wellness-oriented clientele. At times, those efforts may have a regional focus in order to create a critical mass of wellness tourism-related products.
Specific destination assessment services include:
- Comprehensive on-site community/destination assessment and evaluation of tourism assets
- Consulting with businesses and local government and industry players about ways current products can be adapted to become wellness tourism assets
- Development of opportunities for diversity and inclusivity in the tourism mix
- Strategies for enhancing destination appeal, activities, and attractions
